Split Sole Dance Academy (SSDA) was founded in 2009 by Mr. Dhiraj Bakshi and since then has predominantly been active in educating dance enthusiasts. The company completed a decade on the 7th of August 2019 and has taught over 20,000+ students in the country. Split Sole believes the combination of technique work and stylized movement can bring out the quality of a professional dancer in one, and therefore introduced Jazz Funk to the city for the very first time in 2009. Dance styles like Contemporary & Hip Hop are also taught at our studios across the city. Mr. Dhiraj Bakshi, Founder and Director of SSDA began his career in dance in the year 2000 under the guidance of Ashley Lobo at The Danceworx (Delhi). He has acquired professional training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Jazz Funk choreography along with Latin Ballroom from teachers and choreographers of international repute. Among his several achievements, Dhiraj's memorable innings on Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and So You Think You Can Dance, won hearts of people all over the world. With the help of his team at SSDA, Dhiraj teaches the importance of technique and quality movement in dance to his students in Mumbai. His craft has inspired many across the country.


In the true spirit of dance, SSDA launched SHOW OFF! A Students , Annual Presentation, in the September of 2011 and opened its arms to every kind of person that found themselves inclined to learn the art.Through approximately 7 weeks of classes, students are trained to learn choreography, achieve technical accuracy and most importantly, performance skills. The experience is complete and that of a professional dance show as students enjoy the overall journey of working on costumes and props, mini show and technical rehearsals, teamwork and discipline, and the delight of being up on Stage! Lights, camera, adrenaline!


Jazz Funk is a choreography or studio dance style that is an amalgamation of Jazz, Hip Hop and Funk. This style brings forth its technical aspect from Jazz that helps with correct body posture, flexibility and strength.


Hip Hop Dance is one of the 9 elements of the Hip Hop culture that was created by the African Americans, Latino Americans and Caribbean Americans in the late 1970's in Bronx, New York City. Memphis jookins, Jerking, Bboying, New jack swing, Litefeet, Hip Hop are famous styles that come under the umbrella.
